CHINA TOPS TRADE MARK TABLE

Asia Times reports that China has filed the largest number of trade marks applications in the world for the second year running. Last year the total was 452,000, but this year the Chinese are set to top that total with 268,000 received by the first half of 2004. China now has 2.134 million registered trade marks.

The IPKat says, that’s one almost every two minutes.

It is also the IPKat policy that comments should not be made completely anonymously, and users should use a consistent name or pseudonym (which should not itself be defamatory or obscene, or that of another real person), either in the "identity" field, or at the beginning of the comment.
